Updates


Today we learned a new math game on the iPad, Hungry Guppy! It is a wonderful game for subitizing, number recognition, fine motor and many many more exciting things! Please let me know if you would like to check out the apps we use in class. I can have a list ready for you before parent teacher conferences.


Something new!

Parent teacher conference sign ups will be sent home this week in Thursday Folders. Keep your eyes out for it! I will do my best to meet your needs and be flexible with scheduling. Conferences will be offered starting October 7th-October 19th. If you have any questions after looking at the sign up sheet please don't hesitate to ask!

Just some reminders...

Scholastic Book orders are due TODAY, September 19th. You may also order online with our class code of PC8RP. Here is the direct link to our classroom website where you can place your order https://orders.scholastic.com/PCR8P . I will place the order at 8:00pm tonight.

Picture Day is Wednesday, September 21st at 10:15 AM. If you want to order pictures please return the purple envelope by the morning of the 21st.

Open House is Thursday, September 22nd from 6:30-7:30pm. I can't wait to see you there!

Day TWO!

Day two is truly wonderful! We have so much fun together! Today we started working on our first classroom book and WOW it's going to be AMAZING! So many beautiful illustrators and creative thinkers in this class. Also today we completed our first of many Math and Writing rotations. It's been a busy busy busy day! Now to the fun stuff. It's always said that pictures speak much louder than words and I agree 100%. So here are the pictures from our magnificent day TWO! Right after lunch we went outside to explore our school garden with Nurse Amy! We picked marigold seeds which we are going to plant in our classroom! Sunshine Chair

This is our Sunshine Chair! It is a very special place in our classroom where friends can go to relax, regroup, think and feel safe. In our classroom anyone can go and sit in the sunshine chair any time they want. Friends also may be invited to sit in the sunshine chair. While sitting in the chair friends are able to watch Zogika and calm their minds. It is not just for students! I myself have used the chair once or twice when I am feeling frustrated, sad or if I just need some space. I do this to model the expectations for how to use the sunshine chair, to identify feelings and to help friends self regulate. Also so friends know that it is not a time out chair or take a break chair.  Feel free to stop by anytime and check out this amazing space in our classroom! Love, Miss Brehm
