Thinking in a Group

Today was our last day working with Mrs. Perkins on our social thinking. During choice time we worked in groups to share our thinking and plan for the activity we wanted to do. Friends did a great job of working together sharing their thoughts and feelings. Some important info to share... On Monday first trimester Report Cards will be sent home in backpacks! Please be on the lookout for them! Parent volunteer schedules went out in this week's Thursday Folders. Please return them to me as soon as possible so that I can make sure everyone has a chance to come and help! That's all for now! I wish you well. Love, Miss Brehm

Winter Wonderland

A day like today is one of the many reasons why I love living in Vermont. As the snow continues to fall I can't help but smile. We started our day with some time outside! Friends made snowmen, forts, large snowballs, went down snowy slides while grinning ear to ear! After playing in our winter wonderland we came inside and read the book The Wonkey Donkey by Craig Smith. We laughed so hard! By far one of our favorites! A big thank you to my Aunt and Uncle for giving us such an amazing book! We love it! Then later we all got together and shared one piece of writing we have been working on. Together we are writing stories of Christmas, building snowmen with friends, picking flowers, playing on the playground and so much more!  The snow is beautiful but it has not slowed us down! Drive safely out there!  I wish you well. Love, Miss Brehm

Welcome Back

We jumped right back into working together! This morning was full of reading and exploring the changes in our classroom! This week starts our new alternative seating! We have a standing table, a floor table and two regular tables. Friends no longer have assigned seats and can choose where they want to work throughout the day. It breaks up constantly having to sit!                                (our floor table)                                                                                                                            (our standing table) I hope everyone had a wonderful break! It was nice to have some R&R but happy to be back!  I wish you well. Love, Miss Brehm

Thankful

This is my favorite time of year. Together we get to reflect on all that we have to be thankful for and WOW there is a lot! If you weren't able to join us for our Thanksgiving Lunch please know you are welcome to join us for lunch any day! We eat at 11:30 and you don't even need to give me or the office a heads up (unless you plan on eating school lunch)! I wish everyone a very happy Thanksgiving and a peaceful vacation! I wish you well. Love, Miss Brehm

I Spy SHAPES

Our book is here! I can't wait for you to see it! It looks incredible! I ordered a copy for the library and there is an extra one in our classroom so that friends who did not order one will have access to one no matter what! Fingers crossed there isn't a snow day tomorrow so it can go home in backpacks. Thanks for all your support! We couldn't have done it without you! I wish you well. Love, Miss Brehm

Learning Together

Reunited and it feels so good. We enjoyed our delayed start and worked hard together learning through play! Just some updates... Studentreasures books have shipped and should be here any day! Scholastic Book Orders for October have arrived and have been placed in backpacks to go home. TOMORROW is our Thanksgiving Lunch. We eat lunch from 11:30-11:55! Even if you haven't signed up to join us that's okay please come if you can and bring your own lunch! If you have signed up can't wait to see you! Happy Hump Day! I wish you well. Love, Miss Brehm

I'm Back and There's SNOW!

This morning I was greeted with such lovely cards. It made my morning to see such beautiful notes of love. I certainly missed all of my friends. We were also SUPER excited to experience all of the wonderful snow! It looked like a winter wonderland and we had to go explore. With all the lovely white stuff please help your child remember to pack snow pants, snow boots, hats, gloves and warm jackets! In kindergarten we go outside for recess twice, which means not everything has time to dry completely. Meaning, the more water resistant you can send the better!  I am so happy to be back.  I wish you well. Love, Miss Brehm
