Hour of Code

Today we celebrated Hour of Code week! As a school we take on a challenge to incorporate an hour of coding into our classrooms. Mr. Bouchard came in with eighteen Ipads and taught us a new game, Box Island!

The game challenges students to use coding to get their box all the way around the island. They need to work on problem solving skills in the beginning just getting to the stars. The farther they get around the island the more challenges they are faced with i.e. lasers, boxes, boxes that smoosh you and sea shells that block your way.

Coding is an important language that is shared around the world. It is wonderful we are able to give opportunities to students to become familiar with it at such a young age! We had fun exploring with the game and it was great to see how quickly they picked it up! Definitely a game we will be playing more of!

After we celebrated a friends sixth birthday! I truly love hearing such special moments from each year. Happy birthday!

Today was Manner Day!

I hope everyone has a wonderful hump day!
Love,
Miss Brehm

Day TWO!

Day two is truly wonderful! We have so much fun together! Today we started working on our first classroom book and WOW it's going to be AMAZING! So many beautiful illustrators and creative thinkers in this class. Also today we completed our first of many Math and Writing rotations. It's been a busy busy busy day! Now to the fun stuff. It's always said that pictures speak much louder than words and I agree 100%. So here are the pictures from our magnificent day TWO! Right after lunch we went outside to explore our school garden with Nurse Amy! We picked marigold seeds which we are going to plant in our classroom! Check out all the fun we had!  It was a busy day indeed, but so much fun! I can't wait for tomorrow! Love, Miss Brehm

We're Back!

Welcome back!! We are jumping right back in! (We only have 35 days of school left!) CRAZY! This morning we practiced our whole school morning meeting! The whole class is really excited for tomorrow! If you are able to join us tomorrow. Please meet us in the cafeteria at 7:45 AM. If you are not able to join us no worries Mr. Bouchard will film the morning meeting and I will post it to our blog! We are really really excited! At lunch we celebrated in our classroom due to the downpour of rain! We had fun pushing the tables together and eating in the classroom! A fun treat to celebrate our kindness and respectfulness!  So happy to be back and can't believe we have only 35 days left!  I wish you well! Love, Miss Brehm

In honor of my momma, Katrina Brehm, I am running a marathon. Crazy, I know. I got it from her. In Mom’s memory, my goal is to raise enough money to send a child to @camptakumta ! Please take a moment to check out the link in my bio and if you’re able to, give any amount. Thank you ☀️
