4 Winds- Bees (Buzzzzz buzzzz) and Important Info

Yesterday was our last 4 Winds of the year! We had an amazing time learning all about bees! As a class we learned about the different parts of their bodies, did a little dance, examined the differences between bees and hornets, watched an engaging puppet show and finally went outside to discover man made beehives and the way bees let their friends know where to find pollen to turn into honey! At the end everyone was given their own honey stick to take home. It is the only natural product that never expires! (I never knew that!)

Some important information to note!

There is no school for kindergarteners this Friday, April 21st, 2017. If you have any questions about this please do not hesitate to reach out!

We are hosting all school morning meeting Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at 7:50 AM. Please arrive in the cafeteria at 7:45. Help your child arrive a little earlier that day so we can prepare!

Our class is in need of parent volunteers for A is for Art. We need volunteers for the following two dates! If you can do one awesome if you can do both even better! The more hands we have the smoother it will run! Let me know if you can join us! We would LOVE to have you! The days are Monday, May 22nd at 8:15-9:00AM and Tuesday, May 23rd at 1:00-1:45pm.

First Day Fun!

Today was a wonderful day! We had fun exploring our classroom, learning different expectations and just getting to know one another! We enjoyed our first special today LIBRARY! Mrs. Burroughs is so nice and we enjoyed our time together. As a class we read the book Shh We Have a Plan by Chris Haughton. It is a wonderful book that we will be creating our first classroom book about! In the whirl of the end of day I forgot to send home the first day letters with our schedule. I will make sure to get them home tomorrow in Thursday folders. I am so happy that we are all together! I can't wait to see what this year has in store for us! Love, Miss Brehm

There are just a few things I would like to remind you about! Tomorrow we are skyping with Dianne White author of Blue on Blue. We have brainstormed questions together and have even started to write our own poem inspired by the book. It is sure to be amazing! Here is a taste of our poem inspired by Dianne White... If you are able to please donate to our classroom PIE (Partners in Education) themed basket raffle fundraiser. Our classroom theme is Summer Fun ! Scholastic Book Orders are due this Friday, February 17th . Our Flynn field trip is Tuesday, March 21st . We will leave JES at 8:30 am and return at 11:15 am. PAINT DAY!

Paint is READY! We are SO excited to meet Mary and paint our elephant!! ____________________________ Today was AMAZING! It surpassed all my wildest dreams! As a group we had SO much fun creating and painting our elephants! What an amazing experience it was to end our year together on! I hope you enjoy the pictures and are able to come and check out the wonderful elephants we created with MARY! Our morning started with Mary sharing what she does and different murals she has done throughout the US. Then we watched a quick video of her time in Chester, PA painting elephants! Then we started to PAINT! Here is the evolution of our elephants! To the finished product!
