Our all time favorite books in the classroom library are by far Mo Willems Elephant and Piggie series. We enjoy reading them so much that we decided to create an Elephant and Piggie inspired book. Writers were asked to think about Elephant, Piggie or Pigeon and what they would like to do with them. Once we had brainstormed our own ideas writers went off to illustrate and write their own page to create our classroom book. A favorite buddy of Elephant, Piggie, and Pigeon is Knuffle Bunny! Knuffle Bunny is one of our friends, too!
Everyone will be able to enjoy our Elephant, Piggie, and Pigeon book as well as Mo Willem's Elephant and Piggie book I Will Take a Nap!, Knuffle Bunny, AND a Knuffle Bunny journal. All of this will come home in a green backpack with your child for TWO nights either on a Monday or Wednesday. If the backpack comes home on Monday the expected return date is Wednesday morning. If the backpack comes home on Wednesday the expected return date is Friday morning.
Please take pictures, encourage writers to illustrate and write about the explorations they go on with Knuffle Bunny. As a classroom family we will be able to share the many adventures that Knuffle Bunny has with each friend! We can't wait to see what is in store for Knuffle Bunny.
Be on the lookout for a lime green backpack filled with all the goods!
