Miss Brehm's Kindergarten Classroom

It has been a very busy month! I have settled into my apartment and have just finished my second week of classes. It is weird being a student again, but I am starting to get a hang of it! I miss my seeing all my friends bright and cheerful faces in the morning. Last weekend I took part in Oxford's Matriculation ceremony. I felt like I was in a Harry Potter movie! Everyone wore,  sub fusc, their uniform and all of the freshers went to the Sheldonian to be welcomed into Oxford. The next time I wear this will be for graduation! I hope everyone is having an amazing fall! I miss the foliage, apple picking and yummy cider. Can't believe it is already October. This year will fly by! I wish you well! Love, Miss Brehm  

Hello! Dad and I arrived in Oxford on Thursday morning! The last few days have been full of exploring, shopping (bedding, towels, kitchen necessities and so much more!) and meeting amazing people! I have started to settle into my apartment and I am SO happy my dad is here to help me! I just found out my address email me and I will send it to you! This morning my dad and I left for Oxford! It still doesn't feel real even as I sit here at the airport! I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for all your love and support!! I will be sure to keep you updated and share my address as soon as I know it so we can be pen pals!! I hope your summer was fun/joyous/restful and the start of the year has been smooth! There are no words to express the gratitude, joy, love and happiness that surround this past year for me. You trusted me with your most important gift to the world and for that I am eternally grateful. I am forever changed by each one of these courageous, thoughtful, kind, compassionate students. What a truly wonderful year! I am a firm believer in see you laters... never goodbyes! I will be in touch sometime over the summer/fall with my address so friends can write me in England. Thank you. Paint is READY! We are SO excited to meet Mary and paint our elephant!! ____________________________ Today was AMAZING! It surpassed all my wildest dreams! As a group we had SO much fun creating and painting our elephants! What an amazing experience it was to end our year together on! I hope you enjoy the pictures and are able to come and check out the wonderful elephants we created with MARY! Our morning started with Mary sharing what she does and different murals she has done throughout the US. Then we watched a quick video of her time in Chester, PA painting elephants!  Then we started to PAINT! Here is the evolution of our elephants!  To the finished product! One elephant will be hung in our classroom and the other will be hung somewhere in the school for everyone to enjoy!  A truly AMAZING day!  I wish you well! Love, Miss Brehm

There are special surprises coming home with friends today! Be on the look out for the brown baggies in friend's backpacks! They are to celebrate a special someone in their lives! Today was a beautiful, hot and fun filled day! Friends enjoyed every moment of Field Day! Our morning started out just as it always does together with morning meeting and snack. Then we jumped on the bus and went over to Mills River Park! Once there we divided up into groups and participated in our field day games! After we came back to school and enjoyed a yummy picnic outside. Next was all school recess! Then we came inside and enjoyed a yummy popsicle and watched a quick show about sharks!
