Thankful

As we reflect this coming week on the many different things we are thankful for, I want you to know how grateful and thankful I am for you. I feel honored and lucky to be a part of your child’s life at such a wonderful time. I would not be able to teach without your support. Thank you. I hope your break is peaceful and joyful. Love, Miss Brehm

Publishing Party!

Our wonderful writers have published their first writing piece! After a lot of hard work we were able to celebrate our amazing finished pieces! They are absolutely amazing! We celebrated by putting them on display at our table spots and walking around to read each one! I made brownies to share! They will be on display for everyone to see when we get back from break! After students cleaned out their writing folders, saved two of their favorite pieces and took the rest home!  Love, Miss Brehm

Hello Kindergarten

We are writing machines! We just finished illustrating and writing our ninth classroom book! We created a video to share with everyone! Hope you enjoy! (This youtube account is managed through the JES. The video is posted so that you must have the link to view and you cannot find it through youtube's search engine.) Love, Miss Brehm

November Four Winds!

Today we learned all about ecosystems! We had a blast exploring dead logs and learning that even though a log may be dead things still live in it! We enjoyed an amazing puppet show and even had a special guest! After we went outside for hands on experiences with ecosystems! We found beetles, a millipede, a worm and slug! How fun! We had a great time! Thank you so much to our parent volunteers for making it such a wonderful success!  Love, Miss Brehm

Take the Smooth Road

Mr. Lane, our guidance counselor, has been teaching us how to take the smooth road! He told us that it is a choice to take the smooth or bumpy road. Nobody can make you bumpy. It's our choice. He gave us eight different ways to stay smooth! Mr. Lane made us a fabulous poster and it is hung in our dramatic play area so we can remember the eight different strategies! Once Mr. Lane explained them to us we practiced them! It was a lot of fun!  I can already see friends using these strategies to stay on the smooth road! It's fabulous! Love, Miss Brehm

Dragons Love Everything!

Champ went home with his last friend last week! He has now been retired to our classroom as a reading buddy! We are excited to introduce our new friend Dragon! We read the book Dragons Love Tacos by Adam Rubin and created our own book inspired by it titled Dragons Love Everything ! We can't wait to share it with you and see what adventures our friend Dragon goes on!! Love, Miss Brehm

Goodbye Fin, Hello Nemo!

As many of you know... Fin has been sick for a very long time. He has suffered from fin rot for three months. I decided the best thing for him was to come live with me. I did not want to leave the classroom without a friend, so Sunday I went to get Nemo. Nemo is a great new addition to our classroom! Fin is greatly missed, but we are very happy to have Nemo! Love, Miss Brehm
